DORSET DOG-FRIENDLY HOLIDAY COTTAGE

Guest Reviews

We went on a short break, using Airb&b for the first time. We weren’t disappointed, the converted stable was absolutely gorgeous and very clean. The standards were high, the place felt like home with little touches like fresh flowers, quality bedding, and towels provided by the host.We were greeted with a basket full of breakfast goodies, and a fresh home-baked apple pie on arrival, which was a lovely gesture.Andy, the host was absolutely brilliant, he was friendly, accommodating, and full of suggestions/ recommendations to make our stay memorable. We ended up going to several places - the popular beach Durdle Door was absolutely stunning, a definite must-see! We went to Corfe Castle where we enjoyed a journey on the steam train and ended up in the little seaside town of Swanage.

We explored the surrounding villages on foot, the kids enjoyed the trek and seeing the farm animals. We also traveled to Poole to enjoy a boat ride across the harbor .. seeing the islands and the sandbanks beach. All in all, it was a wonderful stay. We traveled on country roads and it was easy to get to the various locations within 30/40mins as there was no traffic. We would definitely recommend it to our friends and family.

Wow!!!! If you are looking for a peaceful hideaway in a magical green area, away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life - you will be treated like a king and queen- from the amazing, thoughtful hospitality to the luxurious converted stable - so tastefully decorated. The beds are so superbly comfortable, the kitchen very well equipped, and lots of fantastic little add ons to make your stay memorable- quirky little outdoor porch, spectacular views if you are fit enough to climb up the hillside garden, and a very dog-friendly atmosphere. A special thank you to Andy & Sam for the amazing breakfast hamper (which included superb weather as requested) and even a doggy biscuit tin with goodies for our Labrador!

The stable lodge is amazing! It has been renovated really beautifully, all the small details have been considered and it has a real luxury feel- it is a hidden gem which I’m sure will be booked out in no time at all! My wife and I visited with our pup Goose for our mini-moon! It is beautifully decorated, cozy, and in such a tranquil location. Andrew was the perfect host, responded quickly to our questions, and great recommendations for local pubs, walks, sights, etc. We had delicious local produce waiting for us on arrival, bread, butter, croissants, yogurt, and local sparkling wine! We visited Durdle Door for sunset, the beautiful old town of Sherborne which has great antique shops, walked up to an old Iron Age fortress at the top of the hill which has amazing views! I highly recommend a stay here, one of the best Airbnb's we've been to!

Wow, what a wonderful surprise!

We were the first guests at the cottage and didn't really know what to expect. My wife and I love Dorset and hadn't been for a few years, so we were looking for a weekend getaway when we stumbled upon this beautiful cottage in Woolland. We were pleased to discover somewhere new, in a new location for us, and were not disappointed!

The cottage itself is beautiful; it has been designed with guests in mind and has a relaxed but luxurious feel to it. We particularly liked the antique bath, wooden beams, and recovered riding saddles. The shower was nice and hot, the bed was very comfortable and the kitchen had everything we needed for our stay; the fridge freezer is a nice touch for longer stays. Some local delicacies were provided on arrival, as well as basics like tea, coffee, and sugar, and we also took a walk down the lanes to pick up some local eggs and honey to bring home with us.

We ate out in the evening at a lovely understated pub in a local village called the Green Man. The staff were very friendly and accommodating, and my wife has the braised venison which was particularly delicious. We were advised by the hosts we would need to call and book as it is so popular and we're glad we did as it was quite busy. We would definitively have booked again if we had stayed longer.

The gardens are well kept and we enjoyed a coffee on the patio in the morning. The cottage is in a lovely rural location and you can find stunning views of the whole area if you take a walk to the top of the hill. Before heading back home on Sunday we took a drive down to Lulworth Cove, about 30 minutes away, and walked along the beach. It was a quiet morning and we took some nice pictures before other tourists began to arrive.

The Stable Lodge was a real gem of a find and we will book for a week or two next time so we can explore more of the surrounding area.

Fantastic! We have just returned from a few days at The Stable Lodge. Prior to arrival, communications with Andy were great, always there for recommendations and tips. Great attention to detail with the refurb of the accommodation. All essentials and more close to hand. Well placed for many of the local attractions. Our dog was also made really welcome. Well done and good luck with your rentals...

What a wonderful place and amazing stable renovation. From the very moment we arrived, we knew this was something special. The quality of the furnishings and fittings is very high with an incredible eye for detail to make your stay enjoyable and restful. Amazing walks and views close by too. The property is nestled into the hill which surrounds the property providing privacy from the main house with its own courtyard and path into the woods to explore. We will definitely return! Thank you again.

A beautifully decorated stable. Very cozy and had everything we need for a four-day stay. Andy was so friendly and helpful. He had organized a welcome hamper and had provided us with some locally sourced essentials for us along with some lovely wine. Andy also recommend a nearby pizzeria called Fellini, the pizza was absolutely amazing. They have clearly thought of everything and should be very proud of what they've created.
